HERCEGNOVSKI STRIP FESTIVAL (MNE)

Presentation

Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 6:30 PM

The association of comic fans and the manifestation "Hercegnovski strip festival" (HSF) was founded in 2007 by the artist and comic artist Nikola Ćurčin. The aim of the association is to popularize comics and educate the public about this ninth art. The festival is conceived as a six-day cultural event that extends the summer tourist season.

Even though the festival started with a short budget, it managed to attract world-renowned artists such as Igor Kordej, Esad Ribić, Zoran Janjetov, Darko Macan and others as its special guests for the first annual. Over time, the festival grew and the team added Jovan Subotić and Nebojša Mandić. This production trio began to perform miracles in the following years and the festival went beyond its regional scope, gaining media attention and the title of "Festival of Special Importance for the City". It has thus become one of the most attractive destinations in Southeastern Europe for fans of the ninth art. Since 2016, the Comic Book Lovers Association has organized another event, smaller in size but not in quality - Winter Comics Weekend.

The Herzognovski strip festival hosts twelve new special guests each year and over sixty returning artists. It takes place in different parts of the city and ends with programs of live music and after parties. The program includes exhibitions, fan drawing, t-shirt drawing, signings, presentations, panel discussions, screenings, a Comics in a Bottle event and much more.
The strategic goal of the Association of Comic Book Fans "Hercegnovski strip festival" is to elevate their festival and their city to the level of the world's largest events dedicated to the ninth art.
